How does this relate to course content and discussion on the nature of the relationship between digital technologies and both old and newly emerging theories on business and management structures and practices in the perspective of the management level?

The above question can be broken down into addressing these two questions with evidence from your chosen industry:

Q1: How the organisations in the chosen industry have understood the implications of this technology and altered what they do and how they do it?

Q2: The emergence of brand new organisations, built around digital technology, entering a sector and challenging old style organisations who have failed to grasp the significance of that technology?

This section should use theories and models (at least 2 models/theories) set out in the course content.

There must be at least 2 organisations within the chosen industry (1 success and 1 failed). It is recommended that you choose the organisations where you have known people who work at management level to support the primary research to complete section 3. The organisations discussed must be the global organisations.

About BM565 Digital Business & New Technologies Assignment

The BM565 Digital Business & New Technologies assignment explores the dynamic relationship between emerging technologies and digital business transformation. In an era defined by rapid innovation, businesses must adopt digital strategies to remain competitive. This assignment delves into the evolving landscape of digital business models, examining how organisations leverage cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, and big data analytics to drive efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and create new revenue streams. It also considers the ethical, legal, and societal implications of digital advancements, highlighting the challenges businesses face when integrating new technologies into their operations.

A key component of this assignment involves critically analysing how digital disruption influences various industries. The study will investigate real-world case studies of organisations that have successfully embraced digital transformation, as well as those that have struggled due to resistance to change or poor implementation strategies. This will provide valuable insights into best practices and common pitfalls, offering a nuanced understanding of how businesses can strategically adopt technological innovations. The research will also address how consumer behaviour is evolving in response to digitalisation, shaping market trends and forcing companies to rethink their engagement strategies.

Furthermore, the assignment will assess the role of data-driven decision-making in the modern business environment. With the rise of artificial intelligence and predictive analytics, organisations are increasingly relying on data to inform their strategies. However, this raises concerns about data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance, all of which will be explored in depth. The study will evaluate how businesses can strike a balance between leveraging data for competitive advantage and ensuring ethical responsibility in handling sensitive information.

Another crucial aspect of this research is the impact of digital technologies on workforce dynamics. Automation, remote working, and digital collaboration tools are transforming traditional employment structures, creating both opportunities and challenges for businesses and employees. The assignment will examine how companies are adapting to these shifts, considering the skills required for the future workforce and the role of leadership in navigating digital change.
