Module 6:
This module helps students understand how culture affects leadership and teamwork in global settings. It focuses on how people from different cultural backgrounds work together and how to manage conflicts that may happen because of these differences.
One of the main things we learn is intercultural conflict management. When people from different cultures work together, misunderstandings can happen due to different ways of thinking, speaking, or behaving. This module teaches us how to spot the reasons behind these conflicts and how to solve them in a peaceful and respectful way. For example, some cultures prefer direct communication, while others may find it rude. Knowing these differences helps reduce tension.
The module also teaches about intercultural communication and leadership. Good leaders understand how to speak and listen to people from various cultures. They respect different traditions, values, and behaviours. A global leader should be open-minded, patient, and able to see things from others’ points of view.
Another important topic is working in multicultural teams and organisations. In today’s world, many workplaces include people from around the globe. To work well in such teams, we need skills like active listening, empathy, and the ability to adapt. Understanding each team member’s background helps build trust and cooperation.
Lastly, the module looks at critical global leadership. This means thinking carefully before making decisions, asking the right questions, and being fair to everyone. A good leader uses critical thinking to guide the team, solve problems, and make positive changes.
Overall, this module helps students prepare for leadership in an international world. It builds awareness of cultural differences, teaches how to manage conflicts, and shows how to lead diverse teams effectively.
