our task for the final summative assessment is to carry out a Research Project and to write a report that details:

1.your reasons for carrying out that particular research; and the questions / problems it seeks to solve or clarify; [Approx. 200 words]How criminals explain crime? and how to stop offending? either use- situational crime prevention or desistance. Demonstrate the ability to design and conduct a small scale research project on a criminological theme, which employs appropriate methods and commitment to research ethics.

2.brief overview of current literature in that area; [Approx. 800 words] 

3.the methodological approach you have taken, demonstrating how this enables you to answer the question you have set and to engage with, or critique, other research; [Approx. 300 word] - originally wanted to carry out qualitive research(interviews prisoners) due to ethical reason this could not take place (explain the ethical reasons such as security, invasion of privacy, vulnerability etc. I have restored to methods such as analysis of existing data, visual materials (videos) (readings). This is a desk based research.

4.the data you have collected, which should be clearly presented; [Approx. 600 words] The data collected will be results from visual materials and books.

• Demonstrate a critical understanding of key theoretical perspectives, and a wide range of appropriate academic Note that submissions that rely too heavily on web-based sources that are not academic material are unlikely to reach the standard required for the higher range of marks.
• Present appropriately analysed findings that include a critical discussion and use of appropriate academic material.
• Deliver a well written and well researched report that uses appropriate referencing conventions in the text and bibliography.
