Part 2: Rationale
The chosen engagement strategies, collaborative learning, gamification, technology-enhanced learning, inquiry-based learning, and choice-based learning, were selected to create an inclusive and motivating classroom environment. These strategies support active participation, foster intrinsic motivation, and promote deeper understanding of subject matter.
Collaborative learning encourages peer-to-peer interaction, improving social skills and enabling students to construct knowledge collectively (Johnson, Johnson & Smith, 2014). It addresses diverse learning styles and allows students to learn from different perspectives, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Gamification leverages the motivational power of game mechanics. Incorporating challenges and rewards engages students emotionally and cognitively, increasing participation and retention of knowledge (Dichev & Dicheva, 2017). By adding elements of competition and achievement, students are more likely to remain focused and enthusiastic about learning tasks.
