This assignment is intent to measure student ability to design and implement a data warehouse to support decision making. Students are given a choice to develop a data warehouse solution to support decision making of certain goals. Students can use Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) or any other tool to design and implement data warehouse. This project will be 80 points for the report and 20 points for the presentation.
The report should consist of the following sections:
- Introduction (5 points)
- Background information about the company and/or the industry related to the project
- Motivation of the project
- Project Objectives (5 points)
- Define the objectives of the project? What is/are the problem(s) that the project seeks
to solve?
- How can DW play a role in achieving these objectives?
- Data Sources utilized (5 points)
a. What are databases or datasets used in the project

a. How did the data get retrieved? integrated? cleaned? transform? loaded?
- Data warehouse design (15 points)

- What is the software used to implement the DW?
- Steps undertaken to implement the DW
- Developing OLAP cubes, front-end application, and reports to support decision
making (15 points)
- Creating OLAP cubes
- Visualizing of the information of the DW
- Answering the questions that support decision making
