Undertake a literature review to write an essay which discusses:

1. Strategic management theory, identifying the major writers/researchers on the subject and appraising the contribution each writer has made to the subject;

2. the latest ideas regarding strategic management theory;

3. the application of the concept of strategic management and how it has been applied and taken up within the sector represented by your MSc (e.g. construction management, facilities management, sustainability, electronics, engineering, real estates, property management, etc.). Correctly referenced source material must be used.

Marks will be awarded for:

BSV11100 Strategic Management

a) clear and concise discussion of strategic management theory, with reference to the work of major writers/researchers, and appraisal of their contribution (20 marks);

b) identification and discussion of the latest ideas on strategic management (25 marks)

c) discussion of examples of the application of the concept of strategic management and how it has been taken up and utilised within the sector represented by your MSc – correctly referenced to source material (25 marks)

d) general presentation: clear layout, introduction, main body and conclusion (10 marks).

e) significant use of citations (including reference list) to substantiate the views expressed (10 marks).

f) Originality check (using e copy submitted through Turnitin on Moodle) (10 marks)
