Research Project Assignment Task Description:

You are going to research, plan and write up a report of 1,500 words (+/-10%).

The aim of this research project is to find and read academic books and journal articles focussing on a specific topic or research question and then write a report that combines your own ideas and views with information, data and arguments that you have discovered in your background reading. This report has a weighting of 100%. Students are required to achieve a grade of 50% in order to pass this resit assessment.

You should choose a working title from the list provided below: 

1. Discuss the costs/problems and potentials of Business Adaptation to Climate Change and Climate Policies.
2. How does Corporate Social Responsibility pay off? [Investigate Corporate Social Responsibility, ways of doing it, the cost of doing it, the benefits, - effects of different dimensions of corporate social responsibility on corporate financial performance].
3. The world seems to be waking up to the crisis of plastic pollution. Identify and evaluate the effectiveness of some of the measures businesses have taken to reduce/eradicate the problem.

You are required to do some background reading, prepare a plan to complete your report. The report must contain the following sections: 

• An Introduction [contextual background to your topic, definition of key concepts, the aim(s)/purpose(s) of the report, brief outline of the report structure].
• Evidence from the literature.  
• Discussion/Analysis.
• Conclusions and recommendations (where necessary). 
• List of References
