You are required to prepare and present a Group PowerPoint Presentation of 30 minutes (100%) on one chosen contemporary issue addressed by the module content (e.g. crisis and innovation management). Your presentation must critically appraise and evaluate the chosen contemporary issue and the challenges it presents in the global business environment and discuss appropriate strategies to address these challenges.

50% of the presentation grade will be collectively assigned to the group based on given criteria such as clarity, content quality, engagement, visual aids, and time management. The remaining 50% will be determined by individual contributions, including preparation, communication skills, teamwork, responsibility and adaptability. The specific assignment rubric and grading criteria, together with the methods for assessing both group and individual components, will be transparent to students, aligning with The University of Suffolk’s Assessment of Group Work Policy, and GBS’s Assessment and Feedback Policy.

Overview

You are presenting at a Global Business Conference in Dubrovnik (Croatia). The conference is intended for academics and business experts to explore and exchange ideas on contemporary issues businesses are facing globally, with a focus on the challenges and developments these present, and the strategies available to address them.

TaskRequirements:

In groups of no more than four students, you must prepare and deliver an annotated PowerPoint presentation that demonstrates a critical understanding of a chosen contemporary issue, including its challenges and developments in the global business environment. Your presentation should be exciting as befits the innovative nature of the Conference, and must:

  1. Articulate your understanding of the chosen contemporary issue, including the contested nature of this issue.
  2. Critically   appraise   and   evaluate   the   chosen   contemporary  issue,   discussing   the concerns/challenges and new developments it presents in the global business environment.
  3. Analyse, evaluate and formulate persuasive strategies to address these concerns/challenges and new developments, using an evidence-informed approach.
  4. Assess the ethical, social and/or environmental considerations posed by the chosen contemporary issue within a global business context, drawing from contemporary peer-reviewed research.

Presentation Guidelines:

Your PowerPoint presentation should comprise 12 -14 slides maximum (excluding Table of Contents and Reference Slides). Please include speaker notes at the bottom of each slide to augment key points made on the slide. Finally, use Appendices to provide supporting evidence for your arguments in the presentation, ensuring key points from the Appendices are incorporated into the slides.

Your work will be assessed on the extent to which it demonstrates your achievement of the stated learning outcomes for this assignment (see above) and against other key criteria, as defined in the University’s grading descriptors.
