This unit is intended for police officers and staff who provide immediate response and supervision in the event of a critical incident. It describes the performance required when supervising the response to critical incidents. This includes:
•identifying a potential critical incident
•dealing with the incident
•referral to others when required.
A critical incident is defined as any incident where the effectiveness of the police response is likely to have a significant impact on the confidence of the victim, their family and/or the community.
