One dimension of diversity where I may experience unearned privilege is nationality and language background, particularly being fluent in English and able to communicate without barriers in academic and professional settings. McIntosh’s idea of the “invisible knapsack” explains how certain advantages are often taken for granted, and this applies strongly to language privilege. English fluency is often treated as the default in education and employment, which can create hidden advantages for those who possess it.

In my case, this privilege appears in several ways.
