Welcome to the Global Issues in Business Research Article Analysis - Assessment 1. This assessment requires you conduct a critical evaluation of recent peer-reviewed academic articles that explore global challenges at the intersection of business strategy, leadership, and sustainability.

3. Research Article Analysis
3.1 Assessment Requirement:
- Complete all tasks concisely and directly.
- Answer all tasks in your own words. Do not copy any text from the notes, readings or other sources. The Assessment must be your own work only. No work should be copy pasted from any AI software.
- Students must select two or more academic journal articles that are thematically aligned and published within the last five years.
- The word count for the submitted report is approximately 2500-3000 words.
3.2 Assessment Tasks:
Assessment Structure: Your submission should be structured as follows:
1. Introduction (10%)
- Define the global business challenge being addressed (e.g. digital inequality, climate adaptation).
- Select 2 recent peer-reviewed research articles relevant to the challenge (last 5 years).
- Explain why this issue matters for business leadership in a global context.
2. Article Analysis (30%)
- Provide analysis of articles focused on:
- The research question or problem addressed
- The geographical, institutional, or industry-specific context studied
- The research methodology used (e.g. qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods)
- The key findings, conclusions, and contribution to the field
- Highlight how each article uniquely contributes to understanding the identified global challenge.
- Where relevant, note whether and how the authors refer to SDGs, international institutions, or global policy frameworks.
3. Thematic Synthesis (25%)
- Identify and explain common themes, connections, or tensions that emerge from the articles.
- Use global frameworks to categorise findings (e.g. ESG, PESTEL).
- Explicitly map key findings or issues to specific SDGs and targets.
- Discuss how these findings connect to broader global systems or institutions (e.g. WTO, IMF, UNDP).
4. Practical Implications (20%):
- Discuss how multinational corporations (MNCs), intergovernmental agencies, or global NGOs might benefit from the research findings.
- Identify possible policy or strategic interventions, innovation opportunities, or areas for future research, particularly those tied to achieving SDG targets.
5. Conclusion (5%):
- Summarise the major themes and critical points from your synthesis and evaluation.
- Reflect on the importance of scholarly literature in addressing pressing global challenges.
Research (5%):
- Integrate a minimum of 5 scholarly sources, including the two core articles and additional peer-reviewed journal articles, policy papers, or global institutional reports.
- The depth and breadth of your research should reflect a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. Citations in APA 7th edition format.
6. Writing Mechanics (5%):
- Ensure your writing is clear, coherent, and logically structured, with a seamless flow from one section to the next.
Individual Presentation (5 Marks):
Students will be assessed individually for the presentation.
- Time limit: Maximum time for presentation is 15 minutes, Question/Answer: 5 minutes
- Structure: The presentation should follow a clear structure that reflects the report`s contents. The student should consider using headings or sections to organize the presentation.
- Q&A: The students should be prepared to answer questions from the instructor about the report content and presentation. They should respond clearly and confidently. Individual questions will be asked by each student.
- Presentation will be face to face in class. Slots will be allocated to each student. Attendance is a must. There will be no makeup for the presentation.

4. Guidelines
4.1 Penalty
A. Late submission: There will be a 5% penalty for every day late. No submissions will be accepted after the deadlines. Assessment MUST be submitted before the due date. There will be NO exceptions. To ensure the submission is submitted before the deadline, kindly submit your Assessment much earlier to avoid bottleneck in the system. Be reminded that Turnitin will need 24 hours to generate the similarity index for 2nd submission and onwards of the same Assessment.
B. Similarity index: There will be a 50% penalty for similarity index more than 20%. To ensure the similarity index can be generated on-time and kindly submit your Assessment much earlier to generate the similarity index to avoid penalty.
C. AI Writing: It is strictly not allowed to generate complete assessment through any Artificial intelligence tools. The AI similarity percentage will be considered same as similarity. It should be lower than 20%. Higher percentages more than 40% will be reported to OAI.

E. Please use Times New Roman, font size 12, line spacing 1.5 for all except for References. For Reference use Times New Roman, font size 12, line spacing 1.0.
