1. Understand flight dynamics and select the appropriate avionics sensor to measure the corresponding motion variable.

2. Analyse the functional structure of avionics systems within a modern aircraft and to define the performance of a component sub-system.

Requirements for the Assignment In past 3 decades, aviation data buses have played more and more important roles in the integration of avionics systems in different modern aircraft, for example, Airbus A319/320/321, Boeing 777, Airbus A380, and Boeing 787, etc. In this assessment, candidates will conduct a research on the evolution of aviation data buses and their effects on avionics systems integration, analyse the impacts of the avionics systems integration on flight aerodynamic design and aircraft instrumentation, and write a short research report (about 2000 words) on the topic. In the report, candidate should brief the operation principles and protocols of one type of data buses and their applications in the integration of avionics systems. Compare/contrast their advantages and disadvantages. Candidates will use library facilities, and IT facilities to conduct their research on topics they choose to analyse. The short research report (about 2000 words, excluding appendix text) on your proposal will comprise of:  Introduction to your report;  Review on the evolution of avionics data buses and its impacts on aircraft aerodynamics design;
