This individual assessment is based on the chosen Hospitality SBU from the Interim Assessment.

It requires you to expand on the original presentation undertaken in your interim assignment, and from this produce a comprehensive business plan that, should you so wish, might be used to seek investment in your Hospitality SBU business idea.

Please see the Business Plan template issued separately which will highlight the required sections to be completed.

Ensure you outline and assess the need to develop and innovate in your proposed business to remain competitive, and identify the potential risks to the sustainability to the hospitality operation.

Assessment Criteria

The allocation of marks on the business plan are as follows:

Section one

The provision of a clear business overview (Worth 10% of the marks);

Section two

Clear description of proposed product and services (Worth 15% of the marks);

Section three

Detailed discussion of market characteristics, evidencing understanding of strategic marketing principles (Worth 40% of the marks);

Section four

Understanding of business operations and logistics (Worth 10% of the marks);

Section five

Demonstration of business financial management skills (Worth 25% of the marks)

• The word count should be 2750 words
  • You need to include appropriate graphics to support your points if you  consider they will add value to your answer.
  • Cover page, Bibliography and Appendices are NOT included in the word count).
    • You must use academic theory and other robust sources to support your text, and any theory used should be applied to the context of the scenario.
    • You must use in-text citations to evidence your work, in addition to producing a full list of references in the bibliography. All of these should conform to Harvard Referencing format.
    • The bulk of this text should be your own original work, and should not be excessively paraphrase
