Formative Assessment:

The formative assessment is designed to help you with your summative assessment and is not graded.

As a group, you will formally agree ground rules, roles, and responsibilities to enable to you to work together in preparation for Coursework 2 where you will be required to collaborate. This activity will involve peer feedback and assessment and will take place using the Discussion Board. 

Students will also have the opportunity to engage in a series of value-based decision-making scenarios.

Summative Assessment

  • x1 group work assignment which will be introduced in week 3 and must be completed within a MS TEAMS group.  As the written group work is an assessed piece of work and is mandatory, students must have completed and contributed to the task in MS TEAMS in order to pass the coursework.

The following guidelines will help you to submit an assignment which fully meets Learning Outcome 1 and the assessment criteria.

  1. Critically evaluate multiple dimensions of risk and vulnerability

You will produce a 2,500-word essay which meets Learning Outcome 1 and is underpinned by the ability to be able to critically analyse and evaluate, rather than to just describe.

As this is essay style writing you will not utilise headings but rather your work should be presented in the following manner:

  1. You will provide an introduction to the essay which focuses on what the essay is about, provides context and responds to the essay title. The introduction will inform the reader/marker about the content of the essay (250 words approx).
  2. The main body of the essay will involve critical analysis and evaluation of ‘theoretical aspects of safeguarding vulnerable service users’. Therefore, you need to consider the meaning of the term ‘theoretical aspects’. This indicates that you should be critically analysing the following:
