- An examination of your understanding of the labour market and the relevance it has to future graduate employment positions you may be aiming for with your chosen degree. Consult with websites that provide details on the labour market you intend to be employed within. Sites such as ‘Career Smart’ or ‘LMI for all’ about graduate employment and the level of current employability figures around students. Use the area of work you would like to move into when graduated to analyse the current and local jobs market (500 words)
- A critical reflection on your personal and professional development since starting University. You will find the Graduate Attributes Framework in your module handbooks. Discuss how your skills align to this framework and how you are going to look to increase your skills for the workplace. Are there any updates of new skills and experiences you need to add to your CV. Include an updated CV as an appendix. (500 words)
- What are the key roles your degree could lead to? If you were to choose one of those roles what is the current policy, you would be working within. Does the role you have chosen deal with social policy acts? Vulnerable children or young people, families, community members, or charitable organisations? Use government policy and procedures relating to chosen work roles to enhance your answer. This allows you to use the poster you created for the poster event and turn your work into a discussion piece. (1000 words)
- Personal Development Plan. Use this time to reflect on what is important, be this related to family or friends, work, community, or personal achievement. Take this time to truly reflect on your own situation and create a personal development plan. This should cover not only your study and work plans and goals, but also what is personally important for you to include in your life. Make use of the career planning DOTS model as pictured below (500 words)
