Maximum word count for the module: 3,000 words (Pt 1: 1000 words; Pt 2: 2000 words) Please note that exceeding the word count by over 10% will result in a reduction in grade by the same percentage that the word count is exceeded. Your assignment should include: a title page containing your student number, the module name, the submission deadline and a word count; the appendices if relevant; and a reference list in Arden University (AU) Harvard format. You should address all the elements of the assignment task listed below. Please note that tutors will use the assessment criteria set out below in assessing your work. You must not include your name in your submission because Arden University operates anonymous marking, which means that markers should not be aware of the identity of the student. Assessment Part 1 - 1000 words maximum

Assessment Part 2 (Case Study) - 2000 words maximum - BUS0002 Using Information

This part of the assessment covers Learning Outcomes 2, 3, 4 and 5 and is worth 70% of the total marks for the module.

Case Study:

BRITISH AIRWAYS (Group and plc)

1) Use the above (Fleet) table to answer the following questions:

a) Which aircraft type had the largest fleet (number of aircraft) as at December 2017? (2 marks)

b) Which aircraft manufacturer had the biggest representation in the British Airways fleet as at December 2017? (5 marks)

c) What percentage does the figure in (b) represent of the overall total in 2017? (3 marks)

d) Produce a fully-labelled pie chart showing the 3 aircraft manufacturers’ percentages of the total fleet in December 2017. (10 marks)

e) Use a suitable graph or chart to show the total number of each aircraft type in the British Airways fleet as at December 2017. The graph or chart should be fully labelled. (10 marks)

2) Discuss the performance of British Airways Group using the following ratios: Return on Capital Employed, Return on Equity, and the Current Ratio. (Use the given Annual Report to source the necessary information).  (15 marks)

3) Using information from the given Annual report and other relevant sources, briefly discuss risk factors that could adversely affect British Airways Group’s market position and revenue.

4) Using the data in the chart below, comment on British Airways’ revenue over the 5-year period between 2013 and 2017. Include the mean and standard deviation in your comments
