A developer is considering purchasing a site for development. The developer has noted the Local Authority have a requirement for reduction in CO2 Emission’s over Building regulations. They have heard of Renewables but don’t know what that means and if that is the best option.

Advise the developer on the necessity to reduce CO2 emissions, the advantages and disadvantages of renewables and demonstrate how they are quantified and advise how renewables should be considered in reduction of CO2 emissions to buildings (33 marks)

Your client is considering purchasing a site for development. It will be a mixed-use site consisting of office, small retail and student accommodation.

There are two potential sites one semi-rural on the outskirts of the city next to a railway station with a direct link to the city centre and university campus and one in a dense urban location within walking distance of the campus.

Analyse any risks associated with the proposed sites with regards to its sustainable development and advise the client accordingly (33 marks)
