Aim
By completing this module, you will be able to recognise the process of identifying appropriate and feasible projects to plan, potentially manage and evaluate a project.
This module will allow you to:
- Undertake a critical literature review of an aspect of health/social care relevant to your setting
- Identify an aspect of quality improvement required as a result of a literature review
- Critically discuss the actual and potential impact of leadership and management on the change project
- Evaluate the skills and knowledge required to plan, potentially implement and evaluate the change project.

By the end of the module ,you will be able to:

Students will be expected to access the considerable stock of books and journals held by the East Sussex College. They may also use the college IT Centre to access information on the internet. Module Assessment
All components must be passed to progress
Students will be assessed on the achievement of the assessment objectives
You will be graded against the University of East Anglia grading descriptors – please see Higher Education Handbook ( Online)
Task 1
Formative Assessment Task ( 1000 words)
Present a Project Proposal following the University of East Anglia guidelines that should include the following :
- Project background
- Scope of the project
The written notes / proposal to be included in the summative assessment appendix
The project will be discussed with your project mentor and shared with your peers in a group discussion
Summative Assessment Task ( 4000 words)
A report which analyses and debates the application of leadership theory to a project planned, proposed and implemented in the workplace setting and relevant to your area of practice / interest.
The change or improvement does not have to be completed but you will need to discuss the progress to date.
Please ensure that you read the guidance given to you in the first lesson as this will help you understand and complete the work successfully !

Students are expected to produce clear and accurate referenced assignments using the Harvard Chicago system (see Student handbook).
All work will be checked for AI input and plagiarism so ensure that you reference accurately.
Submitting course work
All course work must be submitted through Google Classroom on or before the hand in date and time
Late submission, extensions and mitigation
Students who wish to apply for an extension to the submission of assignment dates or submit mitigating circumstances should contact the Course Leader to obtain the relevant forms. The forms can be reviewed on the HE page on Google Classroom
Teaching and learning strategies Lectures / Seminars
Students are introduced to key points by brief lectures including opportunities for group work, team research and individual research, problem solving and brief presentations
Students will be encouraged to engage with and reflect on issues by taking active part in discussions.
One to one supervision
Individual tutorials will be provided to assist the students negotiate assignment titles, providing feedback and guidance.
Assignment development
Students will be encouraged to think about, and begin preparation for, their assignments from an early stage in the module. Formative assessments in the form of draft hand in, presentation and peer assessment are used throughout the module.
The assignment question is shared by the whole class, but individual modes of response are identified, encouraged and supported.
Evaluation
Students are encouraged to complete module evaluation forms which are distributed during each module and returned to the Course Team Leader. We value your comments and contributions.
