Within the report, choose one national public health priority that impacts people in your local area and:
- Justify your decision to focus on this priority and its related strategy instead of others
Explain how research contributes to the development of national policy giving examples related to one area of a public health concern.
- Assess how public health research has informed the development of policies in relation to the specific national public health priority.
- Analyse the evidence regarding improvements in the health of the local population as a result of recent health policies developed from previous research and strategy.

- The main body of the report should be concise, formal business report.
- Use at least 1.5 spacing and Times New Roman/ Arial font size 12.
- Use headings, paragraphs, and subsections as appropriate.
- Support the work with research, in-text citations, as well as statistics when relevant.
- Provide Conclusion, evaluation, and recommendation.
- Use Appendices (if any)
- Use the Harvard Referencing Style for intext citation and reference list.
- Provide a reference list using the Harvard referencing system.

Activity 2- Presentation (LO3)
Submission for LO3 assessment will take the form of an electronic presentation to an audience.
Develop and present a set of materials based on the public health strategic priority identified in Activity 1.
These should be materials that can be used in a small-scale health education initiative in your local area.
You will be expected to present the materials and you will need to discuss how you as an individual and your team will share the materials to support local people to engage in public health initiatives.
Your materials and presentation should focus on the priorities as identified by a regulatory body in public health and:
- Reflect current local public health strategies aimed at integrating approaches by different agencies to improve the health of individuals in your local area
- Show how professionals and others in your local community will be engaged to support initiatives designed to improve people’s health
- Show how different agencies involved in public health improvement can support individuals to improve their health

- Use Microsoft PowerPoint Slides.
- Use no more than 6 bullet points in one slide.
- Use images, graphics, charts, and other material to support your work in the presentation.
- Additional five minutes will be given for Q & A
- Use in-text citation and a Bibliography using the Harvard referencing system.

Activity 3 – Reflective writing (LO4)
Following your presentation, you are expected to develop your own critically reflective written summary that reviews the strategies reflected in your materials and presentation, and how effectively you think they integrate the work of different agencies to improve the health of people in your local area in response to the priorities identified by a regulatory body.
It is important in this summary that you:
- Explain the roles and responsibilities of different agencies involved in public health improvement.
- Analyse the role of the public health regulatory body in setting standards in public health.
- Critically review local public health strategies aimed at integrating approaches to health improvement in response to priorities identified by a regulatory body.
The recommended length of this reflective writing is 500 words, though you will not be penalised for exceeding this.
