Research Design, Methodology, and Analysis Plan
Introduction
In this section, provide a detailed overview of your research topic. Begin by explaining the context of the study, including why it is relevant in your field. Discuss the significance of the research and how it relates to existing knowledge or practice. Highlight the key issues, trends, or challenges that make this research necessary. Provide a brief introduction to the problem your research addresses and indicate what your study intends to achieve.
Project Objective
Clearly articulate the main objective of your research. For example, your aim might be to investigate a specific organisational phenomenon, analyse patterns in a particular industry, or evaluate the impact of certain policies. Explain how this objective addresses the gaps or problems identified in previous literature. Ensure the objective is measurable, specific, and realistic within the scope of your research.
Project Scope
Define the boundaries of your research in this section. Discuss the population you will study, including demographics, sectors, or industries. Specify the geographical area and timeframe considered in your study. Highlight any limitations regarding what the research will cover and explicitly state what will be excluded. This ensures clarity and prevents ambiguity about the research’s focus.
Literature Review
This section should be detailed, spanning at least 2–3 pages. Begin by summarising key academic studies, theories, and findings related to your topic. Discuss the main issues identified in the literature, highlighting inconsistencies, gaps, or limitations in prior research. Identify opportunities where your research can make a contribution. Critically evaluate existing studies, showing an understanding of their methodologies, findings, and relevance. Conclude this section with a clear justification of your study and state your hypothesis based on the literature review.
Research Questions/Hypothesis
Primary Question: Formulate one main research question that directly addresses the core problem of your study. This question should be clear, focused, and researchable.
Secondary Questions: List 1–3 supporting questions that help to explore the primary research question. Each secondary question should be linked to specific gaps, issues, or opportunities identified in the literature review. Ensure they collectively cover all key aspects of your research problem.
Hypothesis: State a hypothesis if your study involves testing a proposed relationship or effect. Explain the rationale behind it and how it connects to the literature gaps identified.
