1.1 Assessment Details
Reflective writing and academic skills are covered in the Professional and Academic Skills module. Please make use of previous assignment feedback, the assessment briefing sessions in the lecture series, the seminars, the Skills for Learning website resources as well as reading extensively.
You can write the assessment mainly in the first person using ‘I’, but you may find you move to the third person again when discussing what you are learning about theory. Editing your assignment thoroughly will enhance the readability of your work.
The assessment is a 2000-word essay, and you can attach appendices such as reflective tasks from seminars, learning and reflective logs or diaries to demonstrate your reflection and engagement. The appendices are not a requirement and are not included in the word count. Where they are included, they should be presented as appendix 1, 2 3, etc. The reference list is not included in the word count. Note that the re-assessment task is different.
