In this unit learners will consider the concept of safeguarding and investigate the main legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures that support this, including data protection and Information Handling.

Produce a written assignment to cover the following:

• Analyse the legal requirements and guidance relating to the safeguarding of children (review the legislation and analyse its importance).
• Evaluate the impact of the legal requirements on your own role (how and why do they impact on your role)
• Explain children’s right to be safe, include references to  – UNCRC; Duty of care; Safe recruitment; Early Years Foundation Stage.
