This is a case study-based assignment, please read the case study before attempting the question.

Case Study:

Agnes is 38 years old and is expecting her second child in two months.  Because of her age an amniocentesis was recommended. The results of this show that there is a high chance the baby has Down’s Syndrome.  Agnes and her partner Susan have decided to continue with the pregnancy regardless of the diagnosis. Susan has a child aged 12 from a previous relationship who lives with them and has been looking forward to having a new sibling

Having read the case study and using an appropriate model of grief or loss address how this event might impact on Agnes and their social networks; what support might be available for Agnes and Susan via their social support network or others. Finally, you should consider what factors either enhance or inhibit a person’s resilience and hence coping skills.
