Assignment Task

1. In your group of 4/5 members, you will need to plan, develop and present your work in relation to the Contemporary Business Issues topic covered in the module.
2. Your presentation should have a clear title with an introduction, discussion, and conclusion
3. The presentation will require an overview (e.g. slides to be covered by you)
4. The presentation should be about 15-18 minutes (Minimum is 15 minutes). Marks will be deducted for presentation less than 15 minutes or more than 18 minutes.
5. The presentation should contain a research or critical question (i.e. what area are you trying to answer/identify/address in the presentation).
6. The presentation must be resourced and referenced (Do not use Wikipedia as a reference).
7. Please use clear and simple language to illustrate your points.
8. The presentation must be done in narrative PowerPoint only. Marks allocated for preparing PowerPoint slides.
9. Use appropriate fonts, diagrams (e.g. charts, graphs) to support your presentation.
10. You are allowed to use cue cards or reading aid to help you during the presentation
11. Please hand in a copy of the PowerPoint presentation which will be collected after the presentation. This is mandatory as marks can be deducted if printed copies of the presentation are not handed in).
12. You will also complete and submit a piece of writing, maximum 1500 words
13. You will be allocated to a group of 4/5. Teamwork is essential!
14. Do not be late for the presentation. Please arrive 10 minutes before your allocated time.

Background/Context

This assignment covers learning outcomes 1, 2 and 4 depending on the topic chosen by the student. Assume that you are working for a company as a junior business consultant. You are asked to prepare a presentation on the contemporary issues that impacting your company’s performance. Hence, please choose a company that are having some challenges and/or contemporary issues in their business. Then critically analyse how these Issues/Challenges impacting the company’s performance. And advise some course of actions to improve their performances. Possible topics can be taken from the lecture notes and the topics covered section of the scheme of work. Please inform your tutor of your choice of topic and for guidance on choice of research materials.
